The 4.0L Cayman is the best car Porsche makes.

I can’t argue against it, I’m so happy Porsche decided to offer it. GT3 Touring is still my favorite modern Porsche though.

I feel like the 911 is too big now, but the touring is a great car... it’s basically this cayman’s bigger brother.

I love that Cayman. But t he moment Porsche offers a manual 912 that’s gonna become my favorite car.

Yeah it’s definitely a big car nowadays but still seems to dance well for its size. The Cayman as many say is the ideal platform, it’s just a shame they never made/never will an all-in model.

As it is seen as the entry model, they think those must have a price cealing so the profit margins on those is probably minimal.

1. Cayman 4.0

2. Base model Macan (Golf R 2.0 engine)

3. 992 carrera S with manual gearbox

4. Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid.

The panamera got kicked out of the good parsh list the moment they axed the tri-turbo diesel.

Yeah, but beyond being able to repair it/live with the scars it just seems like a hassle to do so. What I specifically like about the 4.0 GTS is that it has the fancy motorsport engine and the more pedestrian body kit... It’s a bit wasteful performance wise I know... B ut I’m not gonna be driving at 10/10 all the time. Also that rear wing is just too silly for me.

Oh I agree, I guess I should clarify I mean a dream track car. I wouldn't daily a GT4. My Cayman S is about the most sporty shape I'd go.

I won’t argue with you about the goodness of the Macan (I would take my 997 to get serviced by my dealer just because I’d get a Macan loaner), but a ton of VAG models use the third-gen EA888 engine, only two of which are the Macan and Golf R. The Macan uses the IHI IS20 turbo, whereas the Golf R uses the IS38.

There is no longitudinally oriented variant of the EA888 that uses the IS38 turbo.

Also, I’d drop the Cayenne and replace it with the Panamera GTS Sport Turismo in a heartbeat. The rest of the list is approved.

I w on’t deny, the GTS 4.0 with either gearbox will be delicious.

But it seriously has me looking at leftover 4 cylinder 718's that will start devaluing rapidly now , and throwing a tune on them. That’ll be fun.

I’m split on the Panamera... maybe the hybrid v6 one... but the thing is. I remember going to a dealership and seeing a brown Panamera 4s with the v8 Diesel and... I just don’t think I could ever imagine a better iteration of that car.

We’ve never had the Panamera S Diesel here in the U.S. Just the V6 in the 970.
